GUIDE
Buying an existing business
What you are buying besides the story: customers, leases, and the owner's unpaid job.
Existing means the problems already exist
You are not buying a blank company. You are buying contracts, habits, a lease, and people who may leave. Ask what the customers buy, why they would stay, and which cost grows in a straight line with revenue.
A preliminary seller range, if you see one, is not your purchase price. Your price is what you will pay after you read the statements.
Start with a profile, not a rumor
The buyer form asks for industry, location, price, and contact details before sensitive listing information. That order is deliberate.
Questions
Should I buy a job or a company?
If the owner's labor is the profit, you may be buying a job. Decide which one you want before you negotiate.
Where do listings come from?
Only listings that are actually in the system.
