Where automation belongs, and where a person should stay

By GROFINEX Insights

A repeated task with a defined input and a tolerable mistake is a candidate for automation. Sorting a known form, moving a record from one system to another, or drafting a first version of a routine note can fit.

A decision that commits the company — a price, a hire, a customer promise, a legal position — is a poor place to remove the person. The tool can prepare the material. Someone still owns the decision.

Write the task, the input, the output, and what happens when the output is wrong. If you cannot describe the error, you are not ready to automate the task.

Implementation is the unglamorous part: access, the systems that must share a record, and who checks the work for the first month. That is the project. The model is only one piece of it.
