How long it takes to sell a business

What actually uses the calendar, from the first conversation to a closing.

Speed is not one number

Searches for a fast sale are common. Speed depends on the price, the records, the buyer's financing, and whether anyone is allowed to know the company is available.

The questionnaire itself takes a few minutes. A sale is the rest of the work. Treating those as the same clock is how people get a false promise.

What actually consumes the calendar

Gathering statements, a buyer's review, a lease consent, financing, and a New Jersey bulk-sale notice when it applies all take days you do not control. Cutting the price does not delete those steps. It can change who shows up.

If you are exploring, say so. You can take a range and wait.

Questions

Can you sell a business in 30 days?

Sometimes a prepared company with a ready buyer does. It depends on the price, the records, and the buyer.

Does a broker make it faster?

A broker can run outreach. The buyer's diligence and financing still take the time they take.
