Selling a business confidentially

What stays off the public web, and what confidentiality cannot hide forever.

Public pages are the wrong place for the file

Our public pages do not show a seller's name, company, or exact financials. The sell form is how a range is requested. A listing, if you later choose one, is a separate decision.

Confidentiality is a practice: who receives the figures, whether a buyer signs a nondisclosure agreement, and whether your accountant knows not to mention it. A website checkbox is not that practice.

Silence has a cost

The fewer people who can confirm the story, the slower a buyer's questions get answered. That is a trade you can choose. It is not a failure of the process.

Who receives the figures, and when, is a choice you make after the range.

Questions

Is my submission public?

No. It is stored as a lead so the request can be answered. It is not posted as a listing.

Do buyers sign a nondisclosure agreement?

When a confidential opportunity is actually shared, that is a document for the parties. This article does not create one.
