GUIDE
How much is my business worth?
A preliminary range uses figures you provide. It is not an appraisal and not a price a buyer must pay.
Worth to whom
A number without a buyer is a model. Buyers pay for cash they believe will continue, and they discount cash that leaves with the owner. Revenue alone does not answer the question.
The sell form builds a preliminary range from the figures you enter. The result says it is not a formal appraisal.
What moves the range
Owner dependence, a customer that is too large a share of revenue, messy books, and real estate mixed into the business price all change the conversation. If an input is a guess, the range should be read as a guess.
Google's own suggestions for this question include calculators. A calculator that does not show its assumptions is less useful than a wider range with the assumption written down.
Questions
Is the range a formal appraisal?
No. It is a preliminary range, not a formal appraisal and not a guaranteed price.
Is there a typical multiple?
The range comes from the figures you enter. It is not a single multiple treated as your price.
