How to sell a commercial building in New Jersey
Facts an owner in Northern New Jersey can gather while exploring options for an office, retail, or mixed-use building.
Separate the building from the business
An owner might be thinking about a sale of the building, a lease, or a company sale that also involves the building. Those are different goals. Write down which one you mean, and whether tenants stay.
This page does not publish the building and does not produce a value. The form is how you tell GROFINEX about the property and your goals. We follow up.
Facts that change the conversation
Town and county, square feet, remaining lease terms, and who occupies the space are the first facts. A Route 17 retail building and a suburban office with one user are not the same offer.
New Jersey records a Realty Transfer Fee when a deed is recorded, and some sales over $1,000,000 also face the Graduated Percent Fee. The classes are on the Division of Taxation’s page. Confirm yours before you budget the fee. This is not tax advice.
